Annual Plants

Our season begins in January with seeding. February and March means more seeding and transplanting. By April our plants are moving out into the outer greenhouses and spend their days outside getting bigger for summer. May is our busiest month as we are getting the majority of the plants ready for both the garden center to sell and for Nantucket's landscapers.

We also transplant many cut flowers, herbs, and vegetables that we grow from seed into the fields where they will spend the rest of the summer growing before being harvested for sale.

Annual Plant production is a huge part of what we do in the greenhouses. Some of our better known plants are Alyssum, Cosmos, Geraniums, Impatiens, Lobelias, Petunias, Verbena, Pansies, Ranunculus, and Snapdragons.
