March 15: Easter Baking
Our baker, Jo Polowy will show you how you can fill your family with Easter treats from morning until night with morning glory Muffins, sticky buns, lemon curd, lemon curd tartlets and shortbread cookies.
March 22: Spring Planters and Psanky
Jacqui Wiggins will show examples and demonstrate spring bulb planters in various containers followed by a demonstration
on how to make a spring/Easter fresh floral arrangement.
Jill Sandole will present Psanky, the creation of exquisite Ukrainian eggs.
Kits for this unique art form will be available to purchase afterwards.
March 29: Veggie Gardening 101
Hilary and Pete will talk about vegetable gardening from seed to harvest including soil requirements and
present helpful information for making choices about growing naturally and organically.
April 5: Perennial Grower’s Favorites
Perennial Grower, Lori Kunz, will present a slide show of her favorite annuals, perennials, shrubs, vines and herbs;
showcasing plants with long bloom times, disease resistance, high performance, low maintenance and other cool stuff.
April 12: Stop and Smell the Roses
Liz Morcone will discuss new varieties for 2008, best choices for Nantucket, when and what to spray for insect control and prevention of diseases, when and how to prune, where to plant, winter protection and care.
April 19: Orchid Day
Nick Mancieri of award-winning A&P orchids in Swansea, MA will have a collection of unique and unusual orchids for sale this day. At 10AM he will give a presentation including tips and tricks to keep these beauties happy and healthy in your home.
April 26th: Herbs Through The Ages
Adrianne Kunz will present history, superstitions, magic lore and medicinal and health uses of
commonly used and easy to grow herbs.
Mj Mojer will follow up with recipes and a demonstration incorporating herbs into every day food.
May 3: Hot, Exotic and Tropical: On Beyond Pothos
Liz Morcone will showcase some colorful and interesting accent plants you can use in decorating outside or inside.
May 10: Proven Winners and New Programs
Heather Poire of Pleasant View Gardens will present Proven Winners for 2008.
