When it comes to food, we strive to maintain a large selection of natural, organic and environmentally safe products. We also support Massachussetts-grown, New England-grown or New England-produced items, and products made right here on Nantucket.
Our FARM-GROWN VEGETABLES are grown and harvested with time-honored tradition and skill. Picked at the peak of ripeness, Nantucket vegetables are full of flavor and goodness that most grocery stores can't provide. Our veggies are harvested daily, so they are always fresh.
Our market also houses our wonderful kitchen that prepares many wonderful pre-prepared foods and fine deserts.
FRUIT: We offer a full selection of seasonal fruit delivered daily from our specialty fruit distributor. We also buy seseasonal products like apples from Massachussetts farmers on the mainland. This is complemented by our own farm-grown melons.
DAIRY: We carry a full compliment of New England dairy products including HP Hood milk and creams, Cabot butter and Stoneyfield Yogurts, eggs and organic eggs.
BREADS: Fresh bread is delivered daily from Something Natural, a Nantucket tradition in premium quality breads.
CHEESE: In 1994 we began a relationship with Smith's Country Cheese for our cheddar, gouda and flavored cheese selections. Smith's is a family dairy located on the mainland in Massachussetts. Fresh mozzarella, blue cheese and a wide assortment of tasty goat cheese round out this department.
MEATS: Our meat department grew dramatically in 2004 with the introduction of James Derba meats. We buy only prime and choice cuts of meat that taste great right off the grill. Sirloin tips, (marinated or plain,) tenderloin, sirloin strip steaks, chicken breasts (marinated or not,) baby back ribs, black angus burgers, sausage, chicken sausage, premium bacon, salami and hot dogs are available every day through the season. If you want to grill or cook in, Bartlett's is the place with great choices.
FROZEN: All natural pizzas, snacks (and ice cream) are great to keep in your freezer for healthful munching.
GROCERY (FOOD): Our grocery department has everything from cereals to pickles, pasta to baby food, broth to herbs. Nearly all items are natural or organic. We try to offer everything our customers will need for a great vacation of eating and cooking, or just stocking up the kitchen cabinets. Several brands of salad dressing compliment our own field grown lettuces and greens. There's a full selection of beverages including spring waters (sparkling and still,) organic and non-organic juices, soy milk, rice milk, Nantucket Nectars (by the bottle or by the case,) soda and coffee. Incidentally, our freshly brewed coffee is Nantucket's very own, Nantucket Coffee Roasters. Buy the beans to take home, too!
GROCERY (NON-FOOD): We listen to our customers! We recently added bath tissue, paper towels, cleaning supplies and pet foods to our product line-up. Our brands of choice are Seventh Generation and Earth Friendly. These companies have a commitment to sound environmental practices. We also carry Mali "the finest cooking medium on earth" hardwood gourmet charcoal. It lights fast, burns hot and cooks one great steak on the grill.
